Me and my family had booked two days stay at a hotel in Dubai. So the next day we were packing our things and I reminded my parents not to pack any plastic disposable water bottles, but use steel reusable ones and use cloth and jute bags instead of plastic bags.
When we reached the hotel, me and my sister were very excited! We entered the hotel room and there were waste segregation bins in it. Me and my family thought that this was a great idea and as soon as we got home we should make similar bins.
After sometime we decided to go to the beach. The beach was dirty and filled with plastic bottles and bags, cups etc. I decided to clean the beach along with my family. We collected the waste and put it in the trash bins. Later we went to the swimming pool and had a lot of fun there. At night we went to the restaurant for the dinner buffet. Many of the people there took a lot of food and just wasted it. They also used plastic cutlery. We used stainless steel cutlery and made sure not to waste any food. The two day hotel stay was a relaxing and fun-filled experience and also another chance to do our bit to protect the environment.
Eco-friendly travel trips:
1. Avoid using single-use plastic items.
2. Try using paper, jute or cloth bags instead of plastic bags for packing.
3. Don't waste food and water.
4. Segregate waste to make it easy later for recycling.
5. Try to travel by public transport as much as possible.
